  • IAAP is a not-for-profit, professional association with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates and 700 chapters worldwide.

  • It was founded in 1942 as the National Secretaries Association. The name was changed to Professional Secretaries International in 1981. In 1998, a new name, International Association of Administrative Professionals, was introduced to reflect our new roles in today's workplace.

  • Canadian members are represented on the International Board of Directors by a Director elected from Canada District, which is divided into three Divisions, Western Canada, Eastern Canada and Ontario.  There are 17 Chapters in Ontario Division.

  • All levels of the association are administered by volunteer, elected Board of Directors.

  • Whether you are an administrative / executive assistant, secretary, word processor, information specialist, office manager or business student, IAAP offers the opportunity to make a commitment to your career.

  • IAAP's purpose is to provide information, education and training, and to set standards of excellence recognized by the business community on a global perspective.
